This upcoming Kobe I Protro honors thestoriedhistory of the Los Angeles Lakers as well as paying homage to Kobe’s connection to SoCal.
They sport a work blue upper overlaid with cracked summit white leather at the toe. The same aesthetic is seen at the Swooshes that adorn the sides as well as the “UPTEMPO” branded rear heel.
A blue Kobe logo is seen on the front of the tongue, while “67-99”, the years that the Lakers called the Great Western Forum home, appears at the rear. The insoles feature a print of a map of the city, with the Forum’s location marked. A free-inspired midsole intended to maximize flexibility as well as a creme translucent rubber outsole rounds out the aesthetic.
The “City of Champions” Nike Kobe I Protro is slated to debut February 4 at nike.com and select retail establishments; they will carry a 210 USD sticker price.
